Introductions

Hello! My name is Brooke Engle. I am currently a 3rd grade teacher at Warren T. Jackson Elementary in the Atlanta Public School district. Currently, my experience with blogging is minimal and thus I am not an active blog reader. From this class, I hope to learn how to blog and where I can go to read blogs of my interest.

Introduction

Theresa King
3rd Grade Teacher
Jackson Elementary
Beginner Blogger
I do not read any blogs.
I would like to learn how to blog and use it in the classroom with my students.

Introductions

My name is Cathleen Watts. I am not currently employed and have no experience with blogging. The blogs I have read have been from my children's classroom teachers and comments on information I have read on the internet. I hope to gain a little better understanding of the "how to's" of blogging. I really don't know anything about Web 2.0.

Introductions

My name is Karla Zisook. I am a 4th and 5th grade Challenge teacher at Jackson in Atlanta Public Schools. I have visited friends' blogs, but have never made my own. The blogs I read are those of my friends, for example my cousin has a blog about her baby. I hope to try out making my own blog in this course.
I am Jimmye Hawkins. I am the ILS at Jackson Elementary School. This school is part of the Atlanta Public School System. I have done blooging to the extent that I have posted responses to other bloggers.

Introductions

My name is Alexis Schneider, and I am the International Baccalaureate (IB) coordinator for my school. I also teach a 5th grade accelerated math class. My school is Warren T. Jackson Elementary School, and it is part of the Atlanta Public Schools system.

I have very limited experience with blogging. I have friends who have created blogs, and I read their blogs. However, I have never created my own blog. I really only read my friend Chris's blog that he updates on a weekly basis. He is working in Iraq, and this is how he keeps in touch with his friends and family.

I hope to gain insight into how I can use this tool in my classroom with my students.

Introduction

Hello,
My name is Julie Schirmer and I am a 5th grade teacher at Warren T. Jackson.

Introductions

Hi, I'm Molly Hudson.

I am a 3rd and 4th Grade Challenge teacher at Warren T. Jackson (Go Jaguars), which is part of the Atlanta Public School System.

Good morning :) I am a retired biology/science teacher who taught in Cobb County and Gwinnett County for over 30 years and also taught as adjuct faculty at DeKalb College (now Georgia Perimeter) and am presently substituting in Atlanta Public Schools and planning to return to teaching after another year of resting and getting caught up.

My computer tech skills are severely lacking, so I am looking forward to learning some useful things. Substituting has thrown me into a variety of schools where teachers use a variety of technologies, so I need to get with it!

Introduction

My name is Pam.
I've taught 11 years, and have never posted a blog before, but have read them! I'm in the process of moving from Nashville. I was excited to see that teachers here post daily/weekly blogs to keep parents informed. This is my first ETTC course! I'm excited about getting a chance to learn and use new tools. I think blogging will help me keep connected with parents without running copies of everything I need them to know.

Media Specialist Barber Middle School

At Barber Middle School all teachers post to a blog daily. The purpose of the blogging is to keep students and parents aware of assignments. It is not interactive. I think that the format is much easier to navigate than web site for parents, students and teachers. Also the fact that the posts are archived is helpful as well. I do not blog often from the media center because I have not decided with my job share person what should be included.
Personally, I read a few professional blogs. The GLMA, The Unquiet Librarian and one from a contributor to the ALA - Valenza. Also, as I stumble across some blogs of interest I will read them as well but not continually.
