A Pleasant Goodmorning to Everyone!!! :)

My name is Rashida Francis
I am a special education teacher at Henderson Middle School, which is in Dekalb County.
I currently have a blog set-up for a project I did with my students on Georgia's Drought. It is a work in progress. I also did a presentation on blogging for a class, but I used wordpress, so I am excited to learn about another "Blogging" website. I am interested in teaching a blogging class at my school and I am here to get a few pointers. I would like to know what the term WEB 2.0 means.

Greetings:

My name is Gus Perkins. I am a Business Education Teacher @ Marietta High School in the Marietta City Schools District. I

I have explored blogging previously in a summer workshop here @ KSU and found it very interesting. Due to some IT restrictions, I was not able to follow through. However with the Google access I believe I can move forward successfully. I am also fullfilling a Job Shadow requirement for an MHS articulation with dual enrollment classes.

I read some blogs from time to time, including some KSU staff blogs, but none regularly at this time.

I hope to set up a blog for use with student assignments, and establish a consistent habit with blogging for myself and students.

I am interested in learning more about other Web2.0 offerings such as some of the database and spreadsheet programs available for recordkeeping.

Chris Elm
Curriculum Support Teacher
Fulton County
Beginner-I have a blog, but Stephanie created it and I really don't know how to use or manipulate it.
I have read a few of the blogs that teachers in our school have created and a few newspaper sports related blogs.
I would love to be able to create my own blogs on the school website.
Very interested in podcasting and vodcasting.

Introductions

Good Morning. I am Christine Young, the Principal of Spalding Drive Charter ES in Fulton County. I have zero to minimal blogging experience. Several of my staff are beginning to incorporate blogs on their websites so I read those on a regular basis. I really haven't gotten into any other blogs at this time except when required for a course. This summer I took an online podcasting course. I am very interested in learning more about that where I can ask real time questions at the moment without spending hours trying to figure it out.

Today's information will be useful as well. Our school is very much into the integration of technology and I do not often get the opportunity to participate in the trainings.

Blog Reflection

Introduction

My name is Lori Dawson. In January I will begin graduate studies to become a media specialist at West GA, and I am taking this course to become a little more technologically aware before I start grad school, as well as to gain PLU credit. I don't have any experience with blogs or any other Web 2.0 applications, but am really interested in learning about them.

Introductions

My name is Diane Stephenson and I am the technology specialist at Haynes Bridge Middle School - a Fulton County School.

As the tech spec, I feel I need to try to keep up to date with current technology. I have occasionally gone to a blog accidentally when looking for topics in Google. I have a teacher at Haynes Bridge who does have a blogger blog and she posts homework every day. I felt it would be a good thing to be able to help other, less adventurous teachers at my school do the same.

I just this morning learned what Web 2.0 means so I'm sure I'm interested in some of the Web 2.0 applications - once I learn what they are!

Introductions

Good morning early risers!

My name is Carole Pilgrim. I teach k-5 gifted students reading and math at Black's Mill Elementary School in Dawson County. Our school is right behind the Premium Outlet Mall. I am a virgin blogger. I've never read a blog, and know very little about Web 2.o items. I am looking forward to learning how to apply this with my students. I do have an accoun with Quia where I communicate daily with my students.

introductions

Good Morning...if you have had your coffee

My name is Edie Keith. I am the computer teacher at Kilough Elementary in Dawsonville, Ga. I am just learning about blogging. Just about every website you go to now has a blog. I don't read any certain one. I have used a wiki for a research project in a fourth grade class. Want to learn more ...

Introductions

Tana Martin, Media Specialist (Riverview Middle School)
Dawson County
Expertise: None
Blogs I read: None
I want to learn how to help teachers find a way to incorporate blogging in the classroom to incorporate more technology and make lessons more appealing to students.
Nothing specific--just general interest

Introductions

Hi! I am Emily Brannen from Haynes Bridge Middle School in Fulton Schools. I teach IRR (interrelated resource or special ed) 6th grade language arts and social studies.

I feel that I have a medium level of experience with blogging. Last spring, I began my own blog on my garden, but then we had a drought so I let that project slide a little bit! :)

I have several friends who blog. I try to read their blogs once or twice a week because it's a nice way to keep up with people who you don't get to talk to very often. Most people I know blog through myspace, but to be quite honest with you, myspace drive me crazy! It's way to "busy" for me. Blogger is nice and simple!

I'd really like to learn how to utilize a blog for school, and I'd like to have my language arts students begin their own blogs. Kids don't think they are reading or writing when you put a computer in front of them!

Introduction

My name is Rhonda Boggs and I am the Media Specialist at Sammy McClure Middle School in Paulding County. I have a little experience with blogging and have set up my own which is linked to my media page on our school web site. It is a blog intended for students and me to interact about books we are currently reading. I want to find ways that my teachers can effectively use blogs in their classrooms. I am familiar with Second Life, some social bookmarking sites, using wikis, and other 2.0 applications. I recently attended NECC in June and the Georgia Educational Technology Conference just last month. Now my mission is to convince my teachers to use some of the applications to appeal to our students and gain their interest.

Introductions

My name is Dani-Sue Boldus, and I am an 8th grade teacher at Haynes Bridge Middle School. On a scale of 1-10, my level of expertise with blogging is about a 1. The only thing I know is that they exist. I've looked over my husband's shoulder as he has several political blogs he reads each day, but I've never posted an entry (until now). I'm always looking for ways to get my students' attention, so I thought this class would be an interesting way for me to capture their interest and a way to communicate things like homework and upcoming events.

Introductions

Hi! My name is Laura Gary-Michel.
I am currently a library media specialist at Lockheed Elementary Leadership Academy.
My school is one of 8 elementary schools in the Marietta City Schools District.
My level of expertise is very minimal. I read a few blogs on a regular basis, mostly other
media specialists' blogs in the area and I have used the Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl with
our schools reading bowl team.
I hope to gain from this class the ability to create a blog for our media center, that will be enthusiastically used by the teachers and the students in my school. I also would like to able to teach the faculty in my school how to also create blogs for their classes.
Web 2.0 applications that I use...... Well after today, I hope I will become more adventurous and search more out.
