Brook - First Day of Web 2.0

My name is Brook Bauer. I teach first grade all subjects except for math. I teach a second grade math unit to first graders with advanced math skills. I teach at Spalding Drive Charter Elementary School in Sandy Springs, GA. We are part of the Fulton County School System.

I have blogged a few times on my MySpace account, but I have no other experience with it. I have not read any blogs.

I hope to better understand blogging, photo sharing, and podcasting to help integrate technology into my classroom.

First day of blogging

My name is Jenny Magis-Graves and I teach 5th grade at Spalding Charter Elementary in Fulton County. This is my first time blogging although I have vicarious experience through my husband who writes sports editorials on MySpace and brother my brother who regularly checks the political content blogs.

I hope to gain enough experience in this class to feel comfortable blogging and guiding my students in setting up their own blogs. I'm also interested in learning about the related technological tools.

Good Morning Everyone!

Welcome to Day One of the Web 2.0 class! I am delighted that you have chosen to enter the world of Web 2.0.....Blogging, RSS, Photo-Sharing, and Podcasting! You are gonna' love all these free applications! :)

1) Sign in to Blogger - Username will be kennesaw# - Password is kennesaw. This takes you to the Dashboard. Click the green cross next to New Post to start blogging! (Be sure you have the Compose tab selected.)

2) Enter a title - Introduction

3) In the Message area, enter the following information:

Name
Position (job)
School System
Level of expertise with blogging
Blogs you read, if any
What do you hope to gain from this class
Any other item of interest regarding blogging

4) Click Publish.
